Okay, I would like this thread to clarify and validate the ideas I have complied that work or do not work to clear all misconceptions. Seems like Etsy stealth there is nothing but misconceptions unlike the other platforms .....

1) Using last 4 EIN for last 4 SSN upon account creation? I know this works for Paypal, I've done it myself many times but I have never done it for Etsy and I don't want to just burn my EIN if it doesn't work. There is no true check by Paypal, because it asks for DOB and last 4 SSN when you upgrade business accounts, and adding last four EIN works every time for me at least.

2) Using real last 4 of SSN and DOB with everything else different? I would logically think this doesn't work but I just read some threads that it has? Makes zero sense how it could but you never know?

3) After you have already have given Etsy the tax ID when they request it, does this allow you to reuse the SSN on that account even if that account was banned? For example I have a account that I used my real SSN, later was asked to give my EIN, then later it was suspended... is there some weird loophole with this? I read that some person would use real SSN on all accounts and then after Etsy asks for EIN then she would give it. But it doesn't explain if the original SSN is burnt if the account goes down after giving the EIN?

4) Opening an account in Mexico. I tried to see what it would say if I did this and it just asked me to contact customer support. This method I prefer not to use. But worth adding...

my advice is next time when you sign up with any site,read the terms and agreement so you dont get suspended.
of course they can ban you new account if you use the same SSN,why do you think SSN is such a big deal signing up with Paypal,ebay,amzn,etsy ,IRS

Yeah smart answer! Makes me wonder why you joined a forum about the very opposite of what your saying.

I had little kids report enough of my listings to get me banned. Go bother someone else

Funny how I just created a new account and going by what you've said related to making a new account on Etsy is pure GARBAGE.

making an account is easy,when you start selling,this is when Etsy takes notice.
