New Etsy, you must read
 

Hi, got banned 3 weeks ago and after read almost 15 pages of "Etsy Discussions" i think i'm real ready to open 2nd shop. I'm sellig digital files and live paypal only country. I have just few questions.


1 - new residencial internet (friend name)
2 - New laptop
3 - New ip
4 - new name ( friend name )
5 - new paypal ( friend name )
6 - new adress ( friend that live few miles away from me )
7 - new files from the new laptop
8 - new products

Everything is ready.

Few questions.

To pay e/t/s/y fees, can i use her son credit card or is better create a PAYPAL VCC using her name ? Here in my country there's an option to create a PAYPAL VCC using her name and adress etc.

One more thing, the laptop is next to me, at my home, Do they really look at geolocation? the address registered Is only few miles radius, but the laptop and internet stay at my home.

You should be making up names. Not using real peoples real info... but you’re in a different country so I’m not sure how Etsy works there. But if we’re all able to have PayPal’s and vccs with stealth names (not using real peoples info) you should be able to too.. sure it’s one thing to use ur moms or dads name but your friend and yours friends son is involved here. Idk. If I were you I’d make true stealth accounts for all of this. Also why did you et banned? What were u selling?

They didn't say anything and no email, still unknowing. But after read everything here, probably IP Infringement, because vpn. I was in other place, didn't know this was illegal. BOOOM suspended.

Etsy sent a notice some time ago (I wish I had kept it) explaining what information they sourced and how they use it

Something that stuck in my mind was 'mobile masts' and IP location

You have gone to a lot of trouble so far - perhaps you should think about locating the laptop at your friends and using a dongle for the initial phase of your project rather than risk wasting quality info. Use a remote software to control the laptop

I am in the UK so it may not be applicable

Etsy doesn’t allow vpns anymore. So it was probably the vpn. Can’t even sign up with one for a buyers account.

I dont know how paypal works with your country's tax collection agency or how they are really linked to them, but besides that you wont have any issue with paypal. Paypal let users upload VCC for validation, the problem there might come with Etsy. I would try a real CC with Etsy.
