ETSY charging 20%!! BOO YOW
 

Etsy already charges 8%
They now have this new thing called "offsite ads" where it's MANDATORY if you made over 10K over the past year. You are auto enrolled and the only way out is to close your shop. You cannot opt out
Etsy will now take 20%, if a buyer clicks an add off google, instagram etc..that re-directs to your shop and they buy from you. If the buyer doesn't buy from you, and they buy from someone else, you still get charged 12%
You are paying to market etsy.
It's already bad enough etsy has been holding 90% of my customers payments for 1 - 2 weeks so they can collect interest on it. That can easily be 30%

Etsy is the most Fd up online platform I've been around. My listings won't even show up. They are de-listed going on 3 weeks now. There customer service is a joke.

How do you get this information? Does it show on your dashboard?
The buyer purchased from another shop and you paid the ads?

Yes its true their fee's for Offsite Ads are ridiculous. Luckily i'm under the $10K limit and i opted out

Yes it will show on your dashboard somewhere, how many purchases were made from Offsite ads, offsite ads have been active from early April but they were not charging any seller accounts the fees until the first Monday of May 2020

Etsy has gone nuts doing this IMO. 20% fees are brutal on top of every other cost.

I know, most stores will make no profit with 20% fees, they are crazy to do this

some also say it is diabolical because a few months before they pressured stores into giving free and now take 20% off everything

Since I turned Etsy off site ads off, my sales tanked but in the last week they have started to pick up again.
