Will my father screw me up for sharing IP address?
 

My stubborn father is copyrighting and has already been alerted once for once product and he continuing to do so with other products. I have been selling my own thing for the passed 3 months doing great, it is my livelihood. Now heres the thing, will i be banned if my dickhead father continues to copyright and gets himself banned? I would be completely devastated as he has used my PC to log in and also shared home address and IP address.. Is there anything to do to save my ass? I am innocent and want to simply be in peace :confused:

A few years back I had some problems with an IP address that a family member had access to. To cut a long story short it killed my account. But here is the interesting thing.

I contacted ebay several times and was not willing to let the issue drop. I spoke to many people at ebay. In the end I was told this. If a family member gets a suspention and you share an address or IP. Ebay will also ban you by association.

I was shocked when I heared this and made a refrence about the second world war and guilt by assiocuation. The ebay representative disconected my call.

Now this was a few years back and the accounts did take a lot of time to become linked (from what I remember)

As a precaution you could move your account to a residential IP ir give your family member a good slap.

As always with the bay there are no hard or fast rules and anything can happen. This is just my personal exerience.
