Listing too quickly with new Etsy stealth
 

I have been warned to only list a single item when opening a stealth account and then wait a minimum of 5 days before adding more. Apparently this is critical according to my source outside this forum who has many stealth accounts.

Does anyone else follow this rule? I can't see why it should be done if you're doing stealth properly because Etsy encourages you to list as many as possible from day one. Maybe it tells them you are of a professional class of seller and therefore subject to more scrutiny? I don't know. But I am hoping someone here will tell me that they have opened many stealth accounts recently - never followed that rule and all is well for them.

List as much as you like.

Etsy charges 20 cents per listing,the more your list,the better for Etsy

They even will email you to list MORE. Etsy told you to do it, then why are you holding back?
supplies is correct, it is indeed a nonsense warning/suggestion.

Actually is not total nonsense. At the first week I recommend listing around 20 items and get some sales history, build cookies.

After that you can list as much as you want.

Talking from my own experience of getting numerous accounts suspended after listing 100+ items within first days. And not getting suspended on other accounts where I list more moderately.

Also you need to take into consideration risk level of item's your listing. Branded/copyrighted keywords will get you in trouble more likely than listing only generic keywords.

it is what you list as soon as account is open,if you list 25-50 Alibaba items,it will take notice.

Can you explain the "build cookies" strategy?

In my recent experience I am sure now that it does help to list slowly. But I also wonder if listing print on demand items creates extra suspicion for my store. I have a feeling if I were listing handmade things I wouldnt keep getting suspended
