Hey guys. I read through this thread:

I understand it all, except for one thing. How does the OP use another name and address on Etsy and then gets verified anyway?

Does Etsy compare everything on the ID with what you've entered when setting up the account?

This means that if I do use another persons info, I would need to photoshop an ID or something? Well sh*t, that's something I won't do. Tricky subject. I was just wondering how Gwyn from the linked thread was able to use a random name and address and still get through the verification?

Or choose a paypal only country, no ID needed with those.

ID is not needed with those initially. But after some sales, 1-300, you'll get ID request.

New development? Didn't apply 18 months ago, you experienced this yourself? I can't find anyone else claiming this.

Also after threshold, you'll be asked to verify your PP. Which can be harder than Etsy.

Do you keep adding new PP's in these cases?

Sounds like a plus, all my old pp only accounts when they started doing well, they hit the delete button. Never asked for nothing.

Well lets say you're operating medium sized side hustle of $10.000 revenue month.

What do you do then - add 4 paypals each month? Then spend time figuring out how to withdraw from all of them without getting linked?

Sounds hardly something as a "plus" for me.

From what you said, stealth pp only is over. I'm not convinced, will have to wait and see. I still see stealth looking pp stores with thousands of sales started in 2020.

I had verification request after 50 sales, used my £30 service and that was approved by etsy in 2 days ;)

Full account - Etsy payments (don’t use PayPal)

Name must match - bank account and ID

And yes it’s random info generated

If your shop is located in the UK at the end of the month you will need to update etsy with your taxpayer ID and info or LLC details with individual tax info.

With random stealth info this is impossible from what i've been trying. I know some USA sellers have got around the 1099 tax form, but I can't figure it out for my UK accounts yet.

Etsy is getting harder and harder to stealth on with the new VPN and prepaid card bans. Now with all the new UK tax requirements it might be donezo :doh:

Since my PayPal is real (nothing stealthy about it), what would etsy ask for? A screenshot?

Hi mate, you're missing the point there.

We are talking about paypal verification, not etsy. Using paypal only stores might help to avoid Etsy ID request, but then you got Paypal verification.

Therefore having standalone PP Etsy store is not some magical solution for people who want to avoid ID requests, because with Paypal you'll need to verify even more things. Utility bills, id's, supplier invoices and etc.
