[opening US shop] Etsy Requests Copy of ID
 

Hi Fellows,

I thought for opening US shops if the SSN matches the address, then it's not required to upload a copy of your ID.

However Etsy requested me to do so somehow. After I filled in the personal details i.e. SSN, address, DOB etc. and hit Next Step, it kept showing error messages, and I re-attempted Next Step for about 4 times, it then asked me to upload a copy of ID.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, Etsy already knows your plan stinks.

SSN being supplied?

No real bank account.

No real address.

Your OZ flag suggests ,IMO, you need to do more learning/reading before creating.....

My family friend in US gave me her details for Etsy. SSN, address, mobile number, DOB, name etc. are all real.
I followed the stealth guide in regards to bank account and credit card as well.

Bad move to have used that SSN.

Whose guide did you read? Does not seem you are registered as a subscriber of this forum?

Have you discussed this request with your family friend? She might want to know about this.

Like GB stated, not a good move to play with her SSN...

if she owes IRS money,it will seize your PAYPAL fund.

Info mismatch + flaws in your setup = ID request.
