Does Adyen ban?
 

I’m in the uk and from what I see on here, Ebay will be rolling out Adyen (and moving away from PayPal) in the next few years.

My question is; if you had an Etsy account that got banned, would you be banned from Adyen too? would this Adyen ban include use of it on other platforms for example Ebay (or whoever else goes to Adyen) in the future?

Any info on how it works would be great. Its a theoretical question, as I’m suspended from Ebay anyway 😞

I doubt it,your Etsy account is under Etsy,Ayden may not know you exist,it only deals with Etsy

Ayden does not ban you directly if you signed up with eBay or etsy, Ayden lays out to these companies what they are willing to accept payment for and if you are selling something they do not like they will tell the company you are selling through to suspend your account, if not already done.

So are you saying that eBay will be more stricted under managed payments if you sell risky items?

In the USA, I have had many many Etsy accounts with my real name and tax number. No problems with Adyen banning. I have been able to reuse the same name and tax number many, many, many times.

So Adyen doesn't care what you sell?, is it more difficult to sell risky items on ebay under Adyen or under Paypal?

I have no idea. I dont sell risky stuff. I do hope they do make it extremely hard for people who do though.

Absolutely. Unfortunately, it is now out of eBay's control as the entities that back MP have strict rules on what they are willing to process payments for.
If a blacklisted item is sold on an ongoing basis, they will levy penalties on eBay and eBay has warned that they may pass on these fees to the seller.

eBay implies some high-risk items are still being negotiated. I think it all comes down to processing fees for high-risk items. I think eBay will invite a specialist entity for these sort of items if they cannot get reasonable processing fees/clearance from the current players. Just my thought.

Just like Paypal,AYden will find out it aint easy serving Ebay,it took Paypal years to learn the ropes and tweaked its software.
I still dont understand why Ebay ditched Paypal and went with Ayden,the only reason I can think of is $$,since sales is not growing,it wants to make some money by processing our payments?
