During registration, do I have to link a bank in order to finish the sign up process. Will some country allow me to enter my paypal to finish this process?

You can try one of the paypal only countries. Google for the list of countries using et sy payments (these you cannot use paypal to register), the countries not on the list are the ones to choose from.
