Changing network provider instead of new sim

Instead of buying new sim to create new et|$y account. Can we just change the network provider and use the same sim on different phone to create new account. Does it get linked?
Any suggestions will be really helpful

To change the network provider, you would need a new SIM for that network provider.. would you not?

Yes new sim but same number.

The linking factor would be phone number not the actual SIM s/n.

Keep the same SIM if you want.. get a new number.
