Thanks in advance for anyone who can reply | Hi! Good Question about etsy. They aren't removing sellers randomly.
The accounts I have known about that are being suspended seem to be for one of two reasons. Some are for selling items with images that
are licensed and they do not have permission to sell them. The other common reason is poor business management meaning lots of returns, low feedback, cases opened by buyers. I would read the info on their site about what is not allowed and stick to that. There are a ton of people selling things that are not allowed and it seems like they don't get removed but they will eventually. I do not know if they find stores that are not following the rules because someone reports them or they use programs to search for certain keywords. I am in an etsy seller group on fb and it is happening all the time. Once you get the whole story from the seller, they were usually doing something they shouldn't have been. I have yet to see one seller who was suspended when they were not doing anything wrong. if you sell items you have that are not licensed, ship on time and pack things well, have good descriptions/pictures, you will be fine. I have been selling on there for almost 4 years and have had no issues. Etsy is in business to make money. They aren't going to remove sellers who are doing a good job. |

Are thosenot caught on Etsy? | I am sure they are eventually caught and closed down. I have seen a lot of them closed. Just depends on how long it takes for etsy to get to those stores and if they deal with stores that are reported or who have other issues going on that would draw more attention to them first. I see a lot of the mass produced items too, etsy doesn't seem to be as focused on that compared to the vero issues. Another thing, I am not sure if vero applies to any other country than USA. Other countries have their own copyright laws, some have none so etsy might only responsible for stores in the US. I am not sure if US companies bother to address copyright issues in other countries. I haven't read that much on it. |
