Competitor to Etsy

Because of the way Etsy has changed to Ebay Mk2 it appears a group of sellers have decided to take matters into their own hands

I have no idea if it will be a success or not but it is generating some interest

Your opinions?

Will be an interesting option if enough traffic is generated.

From her website:

"InspoShops will have subscription packages based off the needs of each store front. Instead of paying fees every time someone purchases an item, you will pay a subscription fee and when someone pays for an item, the money goes directly to you!"

The site is going to have money upfront regardless of sales...wonder what the packages will look like...

That's where the upfront cost is going to an instant profit for the site...low traffic will hurt seller initially

Hard to say given the website hasn't even launched. Looks 'cheap and tarty' from what's on offer so far.

Will it take off, of course it won't. They will have a near zero advertising budget and will, I guess, end up as another ebid-styled waste of time.

In any event, if it did take off to the point of being a viable competitor to any of the major players then one of them could possibly simply buy it and close it down. Ask yourself why ebid is still plodding along after all these years...it simply isn't a threat.

In the incredibly unlikely event this site took off then, in time, it too would become Ebay Mk3, it stands to reason that they'd need to adopt mainstream practices, regulation, control and accountability.

Anyway, it's a double edged sword for them. I'm not willing to spend a minute of my time or a single penny until the platform is clearly profitable yet without those who do it will never take off. If you've time to do the former you're not running your business correctly.

Good luck to them, they're going to need it.

People should sell their items on other market places instead. The subscription fees are usually used for paid ads

Thats just the listing fee though. Selling fee and ad spend is sickening.

Anyone who calls their business "bossbabe" is a lightweight in the smarts department. Who writes "based off of"? That's not English. English is BASED ON. This is a bubblehead's hobby project.

Thanks for the links, though.

What are these guys going to do? A marketplace where sellers dont get closed down for IP infringements? The Chanels of this world with their in-house legal departments will fix them.

There's no message and fundamentals here. Looks sloppy. Taking into consideration the capital needed to attract buyers + sellers at the same time it will fail before even starting
