1 letter different? yay or nay?

Hi all, so I want to make a new ets.y seller account in my real name, but my old account (real name) got suspended about 5-6 years ago so I was wondering if 1 letter difference in the spelling would be enough? so for instance it would be damian (change the last a with an e) as an example.

The only other match would be D.O.B, but everything else would be totally different. I'm not confident it would work to be honest but thought I would see if others have opinions/experiences with slight mismatching names.

Many thanks. Chico

The name is irrelevant.

You shouldn't have any issue making a new account. But if you do, the name is not the issue.

It will work, then again I don't know how UK is. In USA, I do nick names for me which I only have 2. The only things I rotate is EIN and SSN. From there, I play with DOB. So if you are born on 11/12/1988. I do, 11/09/1988 and also 11/09/1987. With the dates, I use anywhere from 5-15. I try to keep them close to the actual birthdate. With year, I only go 1 year off or one year forward.

Never had issues with them passing that verification using that.

But my name wouldn't link me to my old suspended account from 5-6 years back? other than name, D.O.B would be the only other link.

What would be the issue you think? (if it's not the name of course ;)

Thanks for info Rageless, that's super interesting to me, because I thought I read that real info is important these days & they run some kind of checks? so it's more difficult to stealth.

Because I would be more than happy to play with D.O.B etc if this can be done. Any of these accounts recent mate?

Yankee, if name is irrelevant, can I ask what is relevant then? because I thought I was reading stealth is getting difficult these days & etsy actually check some things? or it must be a real person or something?

So what do etsy actually check if you have knowledge of this?

I'm real interested in this because for the last few days I've been thinking a new etsy would be difficult but now I see a glimmer of hope again :)

Many thanks

I must have more than 100 etsy accounts in my Name. Do you really think you are the only person in the whole entire world with your name?

So, if the address is different, the email and phone is different and it all matches to a database, why would it not work? I suggest just make a real account exactly as you because nothing matches from before and quite frankly, they simple dont care and wont know anyways.

If you’re putting a DOB and name that dont match anything real and you make usa accounts then how are you passing the verification questions? Etsy cant even ask you real verifiable questions if they have fictitious user info.

How long ago did you make your last stealth?

They do ask verification questions still. I still use my name and an alias I go by in all my legal dealings that I never had issue with. The dob is like 1-2 years off the same with the date as well. I still get the questions asked all the time.

None of that gibberish makes any sense whatsoever.

If you are doing this, what will happen once they verify the ID? As this is mandatory now.
