After (I believe) 10-15 or so successful sales (and maybe a month or so), with 100% "scores" on Shipping speed, Customer communication, and positive customer experiences/reviews, my payment "Reserve" (Which only holds funds for...they say 45 days, but I always got my full payment (partial payment comes to you directly after the sale) a few days after the package started moving through the shipping system.
After that, I received my full payments for all my orders before I had even shipped them. My payment reserve was gone! Came as a surprise to me, and if I had to guess, I would say that by the time I had 20 sales and 1.5-2 months of good behavior, it was removed way earlier than i thought it would be.
Just buy the shipping labels ASAP, ship fast, and shoot the customer a quick message letting them know you are dropping off their order ASAP at the Post Office (customers love that), and you may be rewarded.
If you dont do these things, specifically shipping slow and not communicating, things will be harder and Etsy will see it as risky behavior, which wont do you any favors because customers will complain and some may even report you.
