Stealth Etsy Account in US - Bank related Question
 

Hey guys!
I'm new to Etsy but well experienced Ebay seller.
With Ebay I had no issues adding my bank account even though my stealth account had a mix matching name.

I'm stuck in the bank account linking section and afraid that something will go wrong since the account I'm making for etsy is an account that will have name/DOB/SSN that I purchased from someone.

What are your thoughts?

There is a guy here who bot a stealth Paypal account on this forum which has other people SSN,IRS swooped in and grab his money

He bought a stealth account which comes with SSN.
It is against the law to use other people's SSN,if that person owes IRS money,IRS will take the money.
If he finds out you are using his SSN,he could report you

this is called identity theft and tax reports would need to be made in the name of the person on SSN

this would allow them to find it out at some point and you may go to jail for this , the police would easily find you based on bank account details used for disbursements

Have you heard of anyone in the forum say this or prove this? Not trying to be a smartass but I've been doing eBay stealth for a while (4years) and never had issues with the SSN.

Yeah, the account was purchased prior to Ebays policy thay required a SSN, then the SSN was purchased after the change in eBay policy requiring SSN


Could you find the post and link it here? I haven't heard anyone yet that IRS has found out about it and penalized for it. I know it's against the law but it's the only way to do stealth this way IMO

The post was removed by Aspkin,I just happend to be on this forum when he posted.
Common sense,people guard their SSN ,1099 would be reported to IRS and posted to his account,then IRS will compare his 1040 return with their own record and if the reported wages,salary,income is way less,it could trigger an audit.
You know the 1099 is based on SSN,you get a copy and IRS gets a copy.
If you have not been caught,it is possible the person is dead or left the country,or does not make enough to file a return.
if he is dead,and his estate owes tax,IRS could seize your fund.

IRS is only interested in getting what belongs to the government,it does not enforce law that you are using another person SSN .

Yep...be careful. . .Listen to what was discussed above!

This is identity theft and fraud, its pretty much just like drinking and driving every night...you might be fine for while, but when it hits you, you suddenly realize that you were dancing with TWO felonies, federal as well as state laws..

You should go back and ask the seller where did he get the SSN and who is the person,he could be a prior US resident who returned home and have no intention of coming back or deceased overseas and not reported.

plenty of Chinese Ebay sellers selling from China,buyers dont mind waiting 30 days to receive their goods.

For Etsy Stealth, you're supposed to change to a business entity after warming up. All tax liabilities pass on to the inputted EIN instead of original SSN.
