recently Etsy said the name you registered with EtSY must agree with the name on your bank account,your shop name may differ.
why dont you ask your bank,at one time Paypal was able to do so.

In the early days of Paypal,it was giving $10 to new member and another $10 to the person who referred him ,some Ebay sellers were making hundreds of dollars doing so.
But if you sign u p as Johnnie Walsh and your bank account name is John H Walsh,it will be rejected,then it becomes too much trouble,so Paypal switch to use the deposit method.
So Paypal was able to verify your bank account name .
Etsy uses Ayden just like Ebay.
If Etsy has said your Etsy registered name must be the same as your bank account name,while your shop name can be anything you like,then it must have a way to verify ,else why bother to tell you the two must match,
It is enforcing it now and new accounts have been rejected

your store name does not matter,it is your name registered with Etsy when you open an account.

here is something interesting I found-
ou can get account holder's name using any UPI app if you have account number and ifsc. Follow below steps:
Open any UPI app like Gpay, Paytm, Amazon Pay ( Gpay recommend )
Go to send money option and choose send money using UPI id.
When it ask to enter UPI id write UPI id in following format. <acc_no>@<11_digit_ifsc>.ifsc.npci
For example if account number is 967710110006162 and ifsc is BKID0009677 then UPI id would be as
967710110006162@BKID0009677.ifsc.npci
After clicking proceed/next you will see account holder's name exactly as set in bank's server. Now you can cancel the transaction.
The UPI app tells the beneficiary's name just to confirm you are sending money to intended beneficiary, but it has such use also 😜
Plz have a note that ifsc is not case sensitive you can put ifsc like bkid0009677 also.

when they deposit the small amount to your bank account,were they able to see your name>
well,ETsy is enforcing this new policy and it is working.
true,only court order,summon can make bank reveal the name of the bank account holder.
But Etsy is using PLAID to do the verification,PLAID is not the government but websites like AMZN,EBAY,ETSY,and other large retail websites llike wmt,macy,Target subscribe to services which track individuals ,by IP address and other ID,where you go,if shopping,how often do you abandon shopping carts,if you ever own a merchant account,how many chargebacks have you run into,and possibly your credit history,personal relationships,claims and lawsuits,there is no secret anymore.
Dont say it is irrelevant or meaningless,what ever you guys can think of,so can they,thats why stealth is not working,
where have you signed up using the bank account which is in your name?
eg my bank account which I link to Paypal and MP is also linked to my Macy credit card ,my AMEX credit card ,my Kroger credit card,My AMZN account and Treasury Direct .
