ETSY Final warning email for not handmade
 

Hi guys,

i have a problem, while i see etsy tolerated not handmade product, i got in few months about 2/3 shutdowns for not handmade products. I think there are competitor reporting me
Today i got a mail, below you can see the screenshot

The question i have, after this mail there is for sure the final ban? If yes how many is the correct time to wait?

Seems pretty clear to me it's final warning. If you suspect it's competitors reporting you then the final blow surely can't be too far away.

It ays in BOLD it's a final warning.

They are so hypocritical... I see TONS of made in china stuff on their platform.
If anything they are flooded with them.

Etsy allows vintage and antique and handmade items.but for handmade items,it has to be Made by you or someone who works for you,you cant pick up an item which is handmade and said handmade if it is not made by you or your company.

That's how they like to present themselves but as Saijin said, the site is flooded with mass produced tat. Indeed I'll wager that the bulk of their income is from generic off-the-shelf goods nowadays.

They know it but have succumbed to the lure of the almighty dollar and selectively choose to look the other way if possible. They only take action if it gets reported to avoid and adverse publicity or forum chitter-chatter.

yes,there are many brand new ALIBABA specials copied word for word and photos listed by Etsy sellers as vintage,antique,modern,
But they are not listed as handmade,if listed as handmade it must be made by the seller himself or someone hired by the seller,or in collaboration with another company as a designer,or manufacturer.
so stay away from handmade category,list as vintage and do not use the word handmade in your title and description

exactly. Same garbage from aliexpress.

That's why I don't shop there. THe prices are also super inflated for these garbage products.

Some sellers do sell handmade goods,jewelry,clothes,sweaters,clocks,i just found one seling handmade Morocan carpets,many sell handmade candles.

Looking deeply, i recognized some visible patterns of the handmade items that keep to remain active. They have few variations, the variations in most case are not wired to a single photo but the sellers upload an image with a color table. They not indicate materials. Photos are composed like a front store showroom. They have etsy PLUS all

I thought this too at first, but I think it's more sketch to list it as vintage. I have gotten by fine with listing it as made by member of my shop in 2020-2023. I do agree with the last sentence though. I make sure not to include that word, as ppl who are deeply searching for actual handmade goods, get pissed.
