Insight into Etsys ID Verification Protocol
 

So, I just signed up for a new account, fresh bank, email, my own social and all legit info on the Tax/ID verification. I double checked IRS records for my known addresses to make sure there were no hiccups.

Tax/ID info verified without a hitch, bank info matches too (Varo Bank, Manual Deosits)

Looks like they use a third party service to verify that you EXIST as a SSN holder/Corporation/Civilian.

My guess is that they verify the information and just give Etsy an OK or a DENIED/Incorrect. Nothing more, nothing less. The system is separate from Etsy's database.

Just listed my first few items, gonna take it slow and I will report back.

P.S. - Im starting to feel like I could write a decently comprehensive Etsy Stealth guide...Ive learned so much.

Experian are offering commercial SSN number checking, so they will be using them, its standard now with selling platforms in the USA.
