BANNED FROM ETSY... Should I Make LLC and EIN or Am i safe to use real name/social?!?
 

Hi. So last year i was banned from etsy for selling a dragonball z dvd and someone copyright claimed it (still don't understand how that works but whatever) That was back in like October 2022

Today is June 7th 2023.
I bought:
new laptop
new phone + new phone service (will be using mobile data)
new address
new name and name of business
new products/pics & description of products

But all i want to know is when i get past the new $600 threshold they require for tax info will it be safe for me to input my real name and social? or would creating an LLC be safer? Wouldn't making an LLC still give my real name and social anyways? Really the question fundamentally is how do i make a stealth etsy account safely.

I know to sell like a mid range product 10-20 tmes that only costs around 20-40 bucks and stuff like that but i really don't want to invest all this into making an account and I slip up and get banned because of tax reasons.

also how long should i wait inbetween making account and trying to post an item on account for sale?!?!

Really need help plz guys.

You would need a bank account and the name on the account has to agree with the name you used to open Etsy account

I thought i could use mismatch name because they don't really check.

like if my name is john sugar
i could make account with name "jon suga" and then when putting in bank account info i could use "jon suga" as the name there but when making the bank account with the bank ofcourse i have to use my real name. Thats how it works right???

The name on the bank account does not have to be the same as the one on the account, you can put the stealth name in as an account holder name when the account is really in your name, they can not check.

The trick is to use a bank that does not mind deposits coming in under a different name, 2 sure ones are PNC and Truist. Hello

If you do that, how do the tax resolve? Do they go to the etsy account owner name or to the real bank account owner?

You yourself pay the tax on it

Its going to your bank account so you just declare that and pay the taxes due
