Suspended and appeal denied. Will this work.
 

Hi all,

Just after some advice.

I posted the other day about getting me Etsy account suspended, I filed an appeal and they denied it.

So years ago, back in 2017, I opened an etsy account. I then stopped selling on etsy and left that account as it was.

My partner/now ex started a small business and he set up the etsy account in his name, using a new email address, his name and address and also his bank account.

He lost interest and I continued to use this account. This is the one that has just got suspended. The problem with this is that during the two years this account has been open, I have accessed my old account from the same IP. Probably about a year ago. So I am concerned these two accounts are now linked.

Between the time of opening my first account which was in my name, I have changed my name. for example, from Sarah James to Sarah Harris (not my real name).

Address is the same, but I have a new bank account in new name.

I am willing to wait a while until my ISP is changed so I have a new IP address. I am not desperate to sell on there so can't be bothered with VPNs (not that tech savvy).

My question is, when I have a new IP, will it be safe to sign up with my new name and new bank account? Is using the same address okay? Can I use a different address even though my new bank account is registered to my address?

Any advice much appreciated.

I went into early labour and then was taken back into hospital with a virus which was attacking nerves in my brain. He was meant to keep an eye on it but didn't and a number of buyers opened cases and that was that.

Could I use an address close to me even though my new bank account with my new name is registered to my address? How would this work with tax?

I dont think they will check your bank address,but having a new address would help,someone may chime in later .
As for tax,it goes by SSN,I believe IRS stated for 2023 tax return,it is 200 transactions AND $20,000 to get a copy of 1099K.
So if you sell less ,you or whoever SSN would not get a copy of 1099k but it still expects you to report the income

Yes I am in the UK. I've no idea if the address needs to be the same when registering for tax :/ minefield

I'm also wondering if they will have made the connection with the IP addresses about a year ago when I signed into my old account whilst running the now suspended one or if they could possibly class that as a glitch when I get a new ISP.

Do you know your ISP from a year ago?
Does it ever change?
Were you using the same device to access both accounts?

I am pretty sure it was a different ISP when I access my old account a year ago. That was on my old laptop. I have a new laptop now and have only access my suspended account from the new one.

Sorry, at that time a year ago I did access both accounts from the same laptop.

Have you paid taxes on your Etsy sales previously? Just trying to clarify for discussion

No as they were under £1,000. That's the allowance in the UK before you have to register.
