Etsy announces seller verification changes, requesting real selfie taken during sign up.
This will not apply to already EXISTING shops, only to new ones.
Is it asking selfie on all new accounts now? did any one register new account lately ?

after verification of bank account it gives you choice of different ids or passports and then selfy. I don't know if its random or all new accounts?

I was never given a choice between a selfie or a copy of my ID. They always ask for a selfie
