Etsy 2nd account suspended, looking to open a 3rd
 

Hi everyone :)

I first made an Etsy account beginning on the 10th of June 2024. As I'm (just under) 18, I had to use my mother's details for the initial sign up, but used my bank account to verify and receive payments. Account was fine for about a month, as I had listed print on demand items which didn't sell. I listed some new products, sold two within two days, and on the second day my account had been suspended.

On the 15th, I made a new account with a new device, new phone number, new pictures & new bank account (all under my mother's details). Made two sales again. It survived for 3 days before being suspended.

Question is, is there any more options for me? Is it worth waiting a few months until I'm 18 with a new bank account? Or is it worth trying with my dad's details & different address? Thanks

did you appeal for the first account？the second account must be linked.

your mum detail with your bank account, british etsy account,should be ok. Sometimes Etsy suspended accounts in error.


third account, make sure IP different. address slightly different

Yes, the appeal for the first account was denied.
I didn't appeal for the second account as I thought it may be futile. I might give it a go just to see.

Will a work address be fine for the third account?

wait till you are 18 and use a new bank account under your name,erase everything about your mother from your device

Your Etsy bank account must be in the name of the person who opens the account.
Your mistake is to link your bank account with your mother Etsy account

You misleading! I am pretty sure UK etsy works - Etsy A + bank account B.

I am in USA,but someone from UK on this forum said it works for UK as well,or worldwide,I am not sure about worldwide,but I would think it works for UK and EU as well.
Read what OP said,he linked his bank account with his mother name,and Etsy shut his account down,he is in UK

Etsy has closed certain percent accounts without reasons. Etsy just controls the quantity of shops. UK and EU , 100% positive A + B works.

if so,then why not try it and let us know.
There are always reasons why a sales venue close the account,only naive wishful thinkers think otherwise

I think it used to be like this, but they changed it so the name has to match now. I will try a stealth account, if it doesn't work I will just wait until I'm 18

Well, As I mentioned in another post before, Etsy closed certain percentage pretty new shops within 5 days. After 5 days, most shops will be good to go.

And I have over 10+ running shops under different persons details, and all linked my own bank accounts. Totally fine. UK and EU accounts.

I have bank accounts with Halifax, natwest in UK.
And Rabo, ABN, triodos in the netherlands

Did you do some other actions, like changing to another bank account? Or your products meet etsy policy?

From my experience, very small percentage dead account after 5 days. Otherwise you are not a lucky guy

Etsy always accepted mismatched name banks, simply because they cannot tell the name of the bank account holder. If your bank allows it - you're good to go

I didn't change the bank account, but I did change the name on it via etsy to mine, as I thought it wouldn't go through (if only I realised it would have been okay T_T)

I made a new account and set up my shop after warming it for a few days. But I was met with the selfie verification. Does the address on the id document have to match the address on the etsy account? Or is the name & dob sufficient?

Edit: I forgot passports don't have an address on them, we will use that instead of a driving license. I will update whether it goes through and whether the account survives past 2-3 days

THere hasn't been a definitive guide on Etsy, so If I were in your shoes, I'd actually create the account as if it's an amazon ghost account.

Another alternative in the mean time so you can start selling right away again is to buy an account from one of the sellers in the forum's marketplace.

have no idea how you change the name?In finances section？so the account details under your name? then this was not etsy faulty

Not with US and UK Etsy accounts.
