Etsy Ads CPC and drop in views
 

Hi
It looks like Etsy increased CPC from 45-50 cents to 80-90 cents in last 2 months.
That dropped my ROAS from profitable levels to turning ADS off.
I sell popular trademarked items for years and they always had CPC around 50 cents during November-December.
All that happened on different accounts I have.
Some accounts are selling the same trademarked terms(different items) and older account got 80 cent bid while new one still gets about 50 cents.
I sell non-trademarked items too, but there is no such a dramatic increase in CPC.

Also, my best selling account is affected by the decrease in views as many people also complain on Etsy forum, but no one has a resolution.

Does anyone here experience something similiar?

Etsy is using the same trick as Ebay,rotating our accounts,so you see surge in sales and traffic and then no sales and hardly any traffic,this is what they do when sales slow down ,giving all sellers a chance to get orders.
Money is tight these days,have you been doing your own grocery shopping?
and many have maxed out on their credit card,average balance is $6700 and rate is 24% .
Rent/house payment,insurance and car payment and grocery are taking up a bigger chunk of takehome paycheck

My country's flag represents my actual location, but I’ve heard about the significant economic pressures facing the middle class in the countries where I’m selling.

Would be great to hear if anyone more noticed this new trick with Etsy Ads CPC?

While the exact cost per click (CPC) can vary due to various factors, the average CPCs ranging from $0.10 to $1.00.
WHAT CATEGORY ?
Also there are many Etsy shops which are brick and mortar shops,they are willing to pay more

Preferential treatment for other accounts possibly? Due to geographic location

well,may be your competitors are hungry for sales.
When I bookmark an item on EBay just for reference,the next day the seller will offer to sell me for less.like 15% less.

Middle class in USA are under pressure as their living expenses have gone up-rent,grocery,insurance,gas is still cheap.
Americans have not seen much inflation in the past,prices have always been stable and goods are plentiful and as long as you have a job,it is easy to obtain credit to buy a house,a car ,fill gas,buy grocery,go on vacation etc.
It is easy to apply for a credit card with $3000 to $25,000 line of credit and make minimum payment each month.
Credit card interest rate is now 24% annual.
The latest average credit card balance is $6700,but for some higher earnings individuals,the number is much higher .
Some will carry the balance to their grave,if they keep making minimum balance each month
