Noticing a lot of Etsy seller accounts being located in Ukraine

From what I understand Ukraine is one of the last countries that no longer requires identity verification which would explain the surge in Ukrainian accounts

There is one store I'm watching that I know is a Chinese user using a Ukraine account selling counterfeit luxury products the store has done over 500 sales in less than a year

I estimate this account has brought in close to $100,000

So who knows what is the the process for registering etsy account VIA Ukraine !?

I doubt that this is going to be discussed out in the open...you will have to do the research, trial, error, etc.

Ok I don't know what the identity verification is for Etsy generally, but are you saying that Ukraine doesn't need any identification at all?

Ukraine is very corrupt so it's possibly to get pretty much anything there ;)

That is my understanding yes because of the war there is less stringent identity checks meaning its easier to set up multiple stores and bypass bans

Yes but it's not as simple as just Ukraine proxy you still need Ukraine bank details and billing info or it will cause payment problems later

Etsy are a fvcking nightmare with security and platform integrity its very difficult to bypass them I have done it several times in the past but with this new Persona verification bullsh1t its become 100x harder.

Ah k makes sense - likely foreign ppl reaching out to ukraine ppl to sell this kind of info...on the rough end, I could see ppl in Ukraine screwing around with payouts to foreigners...

Hi a quick clarification about Etsy verification in Ukraine.

For Ukraine, Etsy verification is usually done by linking a Payoneer account, so you don’t need anything beyond a Payoneer account and a bank card to complete the payment/verification step. However, creating the Payoneer account itself requires video ID verification, which makes it difficult to open an account under a completely fabricated identity. Because of that, the majority of Ukraine-based Etsy accounts are tied to real people.

Also, regarding buying Payoneer accounts it’s not as simple as it may seem at first glance. You can find an account that looks good, but when you try to register it on Etsy, the account gets banned immediately.

This often happens because part of Ukraine is under occupation, and Payoneer may treat some addresses as “conditionally clean,” while Etsy flags the same region as restricted or under sanctions. As a result, you can easily lose money if the Payoneer account you bought doesn’t match Etsy’s accepted regions.

So it’s important to be careful not every “Ukrainian” Payoneer account will actually work for Etsy.

Given you are desperate to sell Etsy accounts on here, you really should stop inviting people to PM you to "discuss".

A moderator may well conclude that you are selling accounts via PM and ban you accordingly.

Best advice would be if you have something to say then post it on the forum.

Thank you for pointing that out I understand your concern.
I’ll keep that in mind and avoid wording that may look like an invitation to move things to PM.
