Does Etsy share info with PP?
 

Just wondering if etsy shares personal info with PP?

Does the etsy account have to match the info on the PP account?

Etsy shares enough information to complete transactions, but there is nothing special that they share. At least not that I am aware of.

My Pay pal is a business account(EIN already confirmed) in a business name and business add(ups store)...my etsy account is legit established account in my personal name and address...the same as my old suspended pp. I never used Paypal on the etsy account.

Is it safe to get payment to my business pp account from etsy? I guess thats my main concern is that the name and address is different.

It SHOULD be. I mean, Etsy will be passing the buyer's information to PayPal, I do not believe they do the same with the seller. But if your name is Paul Smith on Etsy, buyers may question or not remember your PayPal business name when they see the charge.

Could you change your address on Etsy? That would seem to solve the issue in the safest way. I am not 100% sure about the above, so please wait for others to chime in. The last thing I want to do is to cause anyone to lose an account.

They share nothing. I just answered this last week. You can put whatever you want on Etsy...nothing I have matches.

To back up what unkown5454 posted, your info does not need to match.

But you must make sure you never reuse old suspended info.

I have a perfectly fine paypal account that I have for years. I used it with my Etsy account that I had. I was suspended/banned about a month ago. If I want to get back on Etsy and I have kept that same paypal account but changed the email address for payments with Etsy to a new one, will that be fine to do and not cause any flags? OR... do I need to establish a brand new Paypal account with a different bank account... how does Etsy check with paypal? Would love to keep the same PP account just change email.

One more question... I have a new address and a new bank account to give Etsy - do they have to match? Does Etsy match addresses? I think from what I gathered from above, the answer is no - just want to double check

I don't play with Etsy's bank account feature because of all the information they require like last four of SSN.

Now, with PP, you can do whatever you want. Just keep changing email addresses.

This day and age, giving out SSN to these web services should be avoided at all times (well more than 95% for sure)

I can answer that. I was suspended on etsy and opened up a new account just to buy items. I used the same paypal account but a DIFFERENT EMAIL that I added to paypal. In 24 hours I was suspended after buying an item. You need a completely different paypal.

Sorry to resurrect this older thread but I wondered Stephie were you on a different IP or the same IP, and was any other information the same, on this new Etsy account you opened?

Completely incorrect information. Please do not spread lies and false information. More than one Exec can confirm this is untrue, including myself.

You are new and presumably do not know how to operate stea/lth properly.

I was on a different IP all together. The information I used was my daughters name, my daughters credit card, my paypal with a different email address and different account name. So what was the same?? My paypal account was the same but with a different email address and my bank account was the same. This was before I knew about stealth,.

One thing I noticed about selling on etsy and getting the payment via paypal is there is an item number in payment details on pp. I have 5 different items on etsy that I renew whenever they sell out and even though each transaction on etsy has a unique invoice number the item number is always the same on pp. So if you have to switch pp accounts on etsy make sure to cancel all of your listings and make new ones with new item numbers or else pp can link you through those item numbers.

I was thinking and wondering where you had it shipped? That could have been the link too perhaps if it's an address you ever shipped to before.
