etsy business under an alternate name
 

I have an etsy stealth account now for over a year. Everything works good but I am about to get large orders and i know that etsy usually wants a social security number. How do i get around this problem? i was told to get a business under an alternate name and a ein pin from that. what reason do i give on the form when filling it out as to why i need the alternative name. Does the ein number work for etsy verification when u reach over a certain amount of orders or dollar amount and they want to report the income? thanks

Etsy doesn't care about tax info or verification unless u sign up for direct checkout. They are not connected to PP in any way.
