What paypal info is seen by etsy?
 

hi. I know things change so just looking for an updated answer for this question.

My etsy store was closed and i'm creating a new one. I was using direct checkout before.

If i use a paypal account i've had for years, what info will etsy see? besides the email address i provide etsy of course.

Any help appreciated!

Welcome to the forums - patience is in order. Etsy can only see the e-mail of the pp used...and whatever registration info you give. I think I know what you are up to but please clarify how you plan on using this old PP....

Hey. That is a good question, I would like to know the answer as well. Does Etsy receive ANY information back from your paypal account when a customer pays with Paypal. I am not talking about paying the Etsy bill, I know that needs to be done with a visa gift card or something along those lines.

I just want to know for absolute certain that if I add a brand new paypal address from my old (linked but healthy) paypal account as the payment method in a new Etsy account, will Etsy receive any Merchant ID, or any identifiable data to link my new Etsy account with?

Hi,
i got caught and changed the email address, im thinking perhaps they can see the card. I didnt have any money in my account when i signed up, twice, so the verification process was through my paypal but by the card.

You are fine. Don't pay your bill with PP and just keep slapping on new emails. We have talked about this so many times.

Thanks for the welcome! Instead of trying to create a new paypal account and having to go through the steps of lifting restrictions, I want to use my current pp account to take payments for my new etsy account.

I read through a lot on these forums before purchasing eBay Stealth and thought i read somewhere than only changing the email address with your paypal account was no longer enough. So, im wondering what other info etsy will see?

you mentioned "registration info", and another reply says they got caught after changing the email address.

What paypal info besides the email address do i have to change to use it with my new etsy store?

rsot meant Et/sy registration, not PP.

Again, all you need is new emails. I've done this over and over.

I have two Pay.pal accounts, one business and one personal. Both under same SS number but only one has been used with et.sy. Can I use the other PP account on my new stealth et.sy account to pay et.sy fees with? its the business one that I'd be using and I think I can even add users to it to change the name.

When I was on Et.sy, I used the same PP, just different emails. As unknown5454 said this has been verified so many times. Unless something changes, and when it does, unknown and others on Et.sy will no doubt let everyone know, this is all you need to do.

Whatever you do, do NOT pay fees on multiple Et.sy accounts with the same PP account.

I do not plan to pay the fees with the PP account that I used with my old account. I have two PP accounts, one business and one personal. The business account has NEVER been used with et.sy. It has my business name on it which I can change, my address which I can change, and my personal name and SS which I can not change.

So if I use this account to pay my fees will that create a problem?

If you want them to see your name attached, sure.

Yeah not a good idea as unknown5454 says. The only time I ever paid a bill on there with PP was with a STE/ALTH PP which matched the info on that account.

so really i could use the same pp account with 5 different emails and 5 different etsy accounts/stores without ever being linked?

If I changed the business name to the et.sy business name wouldn't that work? How does a stealth PP work then? I guess I could also get an EIN though i have no employees.

I have an eb.ay stealth guide but its not correct on PP requirements. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but the part I did read said to open a PP account in a friend or relatives name if they have never used PP and give permission (since you can provide SS numbers if asked for it). Nothing mentioned about the new tax laws. It said PP only wants SS number to make sure your a legit and trusted person, and that your credit is okay etc...

I was told this was an updated guide. I actually purchased it a few years back but I emailed aspkin last week and Donald sent me a link to an updated version.

Yes, I just read ebay stealth, it is foundation. But to stay up to date, you should read forum. That is what I am doing at 3am.
