Is a new PayPal account necessary for Etsy stealth?
 

I followed every steps in the eBay stealth guide except for the PayPal account that I added a new email address to my old PayPal account for my stealth, it got me banned within an hour.

Been going through this forum and trying to get some more information on PayPal and Etsy stealth but some say PayPal is not associated with Etsy so a new PayPal account is not necessary and some say a new PayPal account is needed.

So people who are successful with Etsy stealth, please tell me if you opened a new PayPal account for Etsy in order to succeed.

This is my 2nd try and the account lasted much less than my 1st try. I used a new user account and even used a new web browser this time, trying to be more careful every time. I don't know what went wrong but I will never give up.

I think you can add new email to your paypal account to receive payment only, but you have to create new paypal or use another Credit Card to open new Etsy shop (for Fee payment).

Last year I can created more than 10 Etsy accounts with no problems , but this year I created more than 15 accounts since Jan but only 1 account left. I still don't know exactly what Etsy looking for. They deactivate my account with reason "Your business does not meet Etsy guide line". But I'm surely my product is 100% clean , Non Vero and Hand made. Any idea? Maybe cause my country is Thailand :shhh:

P.S. I try to list my product on "Clothing" category.

Did you try choosing another country for your location? Why do you think Etsy is flagging your country? I've seen sellers from Thailand listing the same product with multiple listings and they are doing fine.

Your ip will show to Etsy which country you from. Actually I saw only 2-3 shops from my country opened this year and still alive. So, it make me think that Etsy hate Thailand lol

Sometimes e.tsy ask you to send in info about your shop and photos of how you make the product. Whether that be a pic of you beside a sewing machine or you holding a paintbrush & some shoes. If you send this they let you slide and reopen the shop . They still watch you for a bit , so don't do too much too fast.
Also if you are getting help from some t shirt company or other design co. just tell them . If they come back and see your shop again and see you doing numbers they will get you for "not handmade" again.

If Etsy previously banned your account, you MUST add a completely new PayPal account to any new Etsy accounts. Adding a new email address to the same account just won't cut it.

How so? Because that's exactly what I do and it's worked fine.

You just can't pay your fees with it.

I'm tired. I was thinking of eBay. But I would still be cautious - can't Etsy still see your information when a buyer checks out?

No, the can't see your information. You can also sign up for a PayPal business account (it's free as well) and use your business name if you would like to pay etsy through PayPal directly. I called PayPal and inquired about this before I started making payments and I have been doing it for almost a year now. I've also transferred money from my business PayPal account to another one with just my name on it just to make sure only the business name would show up and it did.

They use PP standard, not PPX. The transaction is handled through PP's own portal.

They only see when you pay your selling fees.

I guess they cant even see info when we pay our selling fee via PP business account and changed name. They will only flag when we do not change our business name.

Your merchant ID is shared so please do not ever do that.

Merchant Id is shared during test pay via PP when account is opened ? Are you sure about this. Coz many people here say that changing name in business PP usually works for them while Paying to ET.

Maybe I've just got lucky, but I've paid fees for multiple stores and never been flagged. I'm probably just the Austin Powers of the stealth game and never have anyone looking that hard when they get paid.

You can do that if you have never been banned.
