nicolodeon | 08-10-2015 11:46 PM | I.P. Change Hi guys,
I am trying to go e t s y stealth for the first time and am having troubles changing my IP address. I have an iMac and a comcast xfinity wifi router.
I have tried resetting the router a couple of times and have noticed that my ipv6 address changes, but every time my public ipv4 address is the same.
What i do know is that i have a static ip address. And i have read that those are almost impossible to change :mad2:
I also got an account with hidemyass.com to get a vpn, but later read that is a no no.
I have spent a couple days researching and messing around with this and just can't seem to get it to change. I feel so lost right now and any help would be appreciated. I thought changing an ip was supposed to be the simple part of this process, yet it has been a big pain in the bunghole for me.
Thank you. |

| That is correct, HideMyAss is the worst VPN. Check into 24vc VPN. Quote:

| As I mentioned above, Comcast, Time Warner, etc are sometimes very difficult to change IP's. |
newjerseymax | 08-11-2015 04:44 PM | Re: I.P. Change As been mentioned above "Phone Tethering, Dialup, Mifi, Dongle." works best. I usually prefer the mifi and not tethering as I use my phone on home wifi a lot |
jeffweico | 08-11-2015 04:44 PM | Re: I.P. Change In your case you have 2 choices... A VPN (24vc is a good choice) or a usb internet stick. Most of them are $20 or $30 per month and you don't get much data, but it is always enough for a stealth account. FreedomPop has them for $3.99 per month, but I don't know what the cost of the USB stick is. I happened to order a phone as a birthday gift from them and they offered me the internet stick for $5 + $3.99 per month, so I took that deal. |
flowclothingco | 08-11-2015 05:44 PM | Re: I.P. Change 24vc VPN
I believe user 123 is an advocate of that send him a PM
They have fresh ip's for like $10 a mo |
flowclothingco | 08-11-2015 05:46 PM | Re: I.P. Change Or change providers when u can.... get a dynamic and swap and retain is pretty simple |
empirestate | 08-11-2015 06:20 PM | Re: I.P. Change Comcast is not dynamic, they are static. |
nicolodeon | 08-12-2015 01:19 AM | Thank you for all the info!
I will be looking into the 24vc.
I tried using my fiances verizon work mifi and was able to connect but it was really slow and would barely load any web pages.
What plan is recommended for 24vc? |

What plan is recommended for 24vc? | You would want to get the fresh plan, as you need a dedicated fresh ip / if you get it with annual billing its only $10/mo |
Re: I.P. Change 123 has a fine option.
Cellphone tethering is easy - dongle also an option.
Dial-up works but is very slow and you need that landline | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 06:33 AM. | |
