Returning to Etsy as an LLC after Banned
 

Hello,
I am new here, and so happy to have found the forum. I am going to purchase the guide, but I have no desire to steal/th on e.bay.

I was banned from Et.sy about 8 months ago, and desperately need to get back on because I am only making a third the income now. I was on Et.sy for 4 years.

I sell handmade, nothing trademarked etc. I had very very successful shops by my standards. 6 figs a year US.

I have created an LLC with an EIN, but it is a single member LLC. I would ideally like to use DC again if I get back on. I have a new address, new paypal for the LLC and new banking. But DC requests SSN#, no?

My question is two-part - there is no way around the SSN# for direct checkout? If this is the case then I should only accept sales via PP? Now... that being said, when I did start using DC when Et.sy first enabled it, I saw a HUGE increase in sales, which is why I wish to return to it. Idk if Et.sy promotes shops that use DC better than shops that dont or if customers just find it simpler.

The second questions is: my SIL has a shop on Et.sy but is not making any sales. We do not sell similar items at all (hers are handmade clothing, mine are handmade paper goods) however we could figure out a way to co-exist and have given it some thought. If we decided to form a multi-member LLC with an EIN, why would we still need to provide a SSN to Etsy for DC? That would be reporting income to one member when it is a business entity that is the earner of income. Why don't they (or do they? I haven't logged into Etsy since January) allow just the EIN so that formal LLC's can have the income reported accurately?

Any help. If option 2 is viable, I want to get the paperwork started for our multi-member LLC and get the banking opened etc so we can get the shop open before holiday shopping begins.

Is there NO WAY I can steal/th by myself, with my new LLC and use DC because I was banned under a sole prop.?

You have an EIN, if you have that they shouldn't ask for a social, or am I mistaken about something. It wouldn't really be right for them to ask for it.

EIN is accepted. Also, do not get in too deep until you are sure your shop is active and can survive. You will be wasting a ton of time. Just get online LLC and fire up an account with P.ayP.al. Once the store is solid, add DC and whatever else you want.

How did it work for you? Did they take in EIN? singl-member or multi-member?

In my case, direct checkout didn't make much difference in sales. PPL accepted paypal
