Can etsy detect photos taken by the same phone?
 

Hello.
I have open a account on etsy again after getting banned.
my questions are the next ones.

1-Does etsy detects images take by the same phone? if so how can we avoid this?

2-Im in a country where having a etsy account does not require SSN
Can i still ad new email address to paypal without getting notice by etsy?

1 I am sure eBay does... i guess Etsy can do it too.

photos has to be purged from "metadata". many free tools to do so.

always clear exif data from photos. that is a staple rule for st.ealth no matter what platform you sell on. they also use hash bots to detect photos from previous suspended accounts. uploading the same photo over and over will link accounts.

As with ebay, change the size and look of the photo. Too close and you could get flagged. Strip out all the data and make sure you aren't even naming photos the same. Be creative.

Not sure image sizes would lead to a link, no harm in doing it though. Removing EXIF is very important

Correct, I will change the size and remove Exif.
Just want to make things the good way.

If you remove exif data and add a watermark does the bot detect it?

Sometimes, yes. I redo everything when I make a new store because of that reason.

I guess adding a watermark would work as long as the account isn't manually checked. However I am an advocate of making new pictures. This will take time and yes this will keep you from listing your items as fast as you wat to. Which is exactly why one should do it. Listing slowly piece by piece makes it look natural.

I tried once to add a new email address to my paypal and added it to etsy... For me it didn't work, I got shut down immediately. However can't say for sure if it was the paypal account or some other mistake that got me shut down back then.

Myself and numerous other long posting members have used the same Paypal's for numerous stores, so it wasn't Paypal that was your issue - unless you paid fees and kept the name and primary email the same.

If you got shut down immediately by simply adding or changing the email on etsy, yeah...that wasn't your issue.

Wipe all images clean with batch purifier. Also add watermarks for free from sites easily found online. That is what I did.

If you're using Photoshop/GIMP/Design Software...they should be able to make watermarks. Free services use similar designs for everyone, that seems like a good way to get flagged.

how about photographs created in photoshop? are those also linked to a certain computer?

No. You can strip those photos metadata the same as the others.

I put all my photo's through PS and never stripped meta data. Never had an issue yet. "Yet" being the keyword here :D
