Internet USB key for EU countries
 

Is there any chance to get off eBay (or any other marketplace) an Internet USB dongle decently working in different EU countries with no killing connection fees?

Some people have written that, with UK networks at least, there are no roaming fees within EU. Could well be the same for other countries.

so if I get a Uk dongle it can be used elsewhere in EU wih no extra fees, right?

Well it's not the dongle itself, it's the sim card. You can buy a dongle(unlocked) then get a UK sim card with data. I'm not sure if this free roaming thing applies to prepaid users or you have to be in a contract. Hopefully some UK person can chime in.

If prepaid works then something like this is good.

UK SIM could be fine, I was wondering if there might be any Lithuanian or other countries Prepaid Data SIM that can be used the same way, in different EU countries I mean.
Countries with cheaper solutions.

Ok, got my UK Three Data SIM today, this one:

It should work in IT no problem but, as soon as connect the dongle to the PC is asking for an activation code.
The card where the SIM was placed has a 6 digit code on it but when I enter it, the pop-up is asking for a 16 digit code. No 16 digit code anywhere on the box, SIM or card.

Any idea what am I missing here? Should I use a "generic" unlocked USB dongle instead of an Italian Three branded one?

So, just a brief update if anyone is interested.
Since I am using a SIM from a different operator (it Is Three the same as mine but this one is UK and it is "different").
My USB dongle is locked so the code is needed to unlock the USB Dongle not the SIM itself.

I am trying to get a tool online to d othis but my Dongle is the "new generation" one (how lucky I am) and I need a 16 digit code to unlock it, which is hard to find...
If anyone could help it would be nice.

Honestly, I would just buy another unlocked dongle. You could be faffing about with this one dongle for ages before finding some form of tool that will unlock it 'successfully' and by the time you do, you may even end up with a malware along the way. :(

It is annoying I have to change SIM every time I need to use the UK one

huawei keys (the best in my opinion) are pretty cheap these days; get one unlocked and you are set
