Re: How to do advertising for my website?
depends what you're selling, some stuff works well on social media e.g makeup, fitness stuff on instagram. Food type stuff on pinterest. Porn on twitter. B2B on linkedin and facebook for a bit of everything.
ppc works for pretty much everything unless its really low value but theres a steep learning curve, if you're selling competitive stuff and competing with big brands then you'll probably lose money using google even once you know what you're doing, sites like amazon dump $s to get long term customers.
With google your bids depend on the keyword you're bidding on, you compete with your competitors.
Facebook ads you aim at a demographic, e.g 'female,20-30,freelancer,owns their own home' so you're competing with everybody else who wants to target your demographic rather than just your competitors.
SEO works for everything but steep learning curve aswell.
Starting an affiliate programme works if you have a decent profit margin or something with a lot of returning customers, need to offer 20%+ of the sale to stand much chance of getting anyone
Leaflets work for certain stuff, mostly take aways and local stuff, can work for ebay sales if you're in a friendly sort of niche.
Shopify is really a complete waste of money, wordpress+woocommerce works just aswell and isn't much harder to learn.
