Speak windows 10 notification messages? Possible?

Hello.

I would like my windows 10 desktop notifications to speak what is in the message as opposed to a 'ding ding' sound.
Each individual message I want read out in speech.

For me it will save time checking what is going on over various computers = increased productivity

I don't see why this it not a standard feature in this day and age.
Especially how Microsoft say in their adverts on tv how their systems can help with businesses..... hmmmmmmmm
Maybe it is a feature of windows and I have not see it.

If anyone can help out it would really really sort me out nicely.

Pic below is the kind of notification I would like to be read out in speech.

Thanks :)

I do not have direct experience but you probably should look into some "Visual impairment" mode for blind people, this might do what you are looking for.
I do know there are dedicated audio sound-boards that "speaks" what is on screen...

As far as this is concerned:

They probably meant "their" businesses ;)

Thanks, narrator seems to do the trick but seems to speak too much.

I turned down all the settings but its still too much.

Its not very customisable.

Thanks for the info though.
I am using it and checking it out.

It does read out the notification message :)

Ideally I would prefer a more customizable program but this will do.
Its a start so now I will search for a narrator alternative.
If I find something good I will report back.

Thanks again, it has helped me a lot :) :)

Narrator is more or less a screen reader but very basic, there are many available free ones and of course some you have to pay for. One that springs to my mind is Jaws by Freedom Scientific (paid) but you get a trial version on their site, you can find it cracked online also. So do give this a try may be what you are looking for.

Re: Speak windows 10 notification messages? Possible?

Thanks for Jaws info but it does not do what I want and installs too many services/drivers for my liking.
The price for their not so user friendly software is really high.
I tried all the setting and it is not for me.

My fix:

I use narrator on minimum settings so only least possible is spoken.
Using 'task scheduler' (windows built in prog) to set my computer to start narrator when my screensaver starts and my computer stops narrator when screensaver stops.

Very handy for me.
When I am busy on one computer, my other computer narrator kicks in after 1 minute so any notifications are read out to me and if urgent, I move my mouse on my other pc and narrator stops and I do my work.

Increased productivity :)

Link to how to make programs etc. start/stop when screensaver kicks in is here:

windows - Run a batch/cmd upon screensaver - Super User

Sorted :)

Do you use one pc with multiple screens or a number of pc's and screens.

It's good to see you got what you needed.

Thanks :thumb:

For my work this is what I have:

2x all in one pc's 26" HD i7 touch screen both the same mounted on wall
1x 13.5" HD i5 laptop touch screen carbon chassis for lightweight same make as above pc's - laptop handy for teamviewer etc so work wherever I am, even when abroad & in bed :sleepy:
1x iPhone 7 plus 128gb which weights a lot and is quite heavy! - handy for work though
1x windows phone basic one, good for testing things
1x android phone basic one, good for testing things
1x bag of basic new phones in box, good for my work :)

For me it was worth the investment for increased productivity & makes life/work so much easier and more fun.

The increased productivity has covered the costs fast :)

I don't use the touch screens on the 2 main 26" pc's unless I have a lot of work that needs doing because it causes me a lot of arm ache!
So touch screen main pc's are not all that as after 5 minutes, arm starts hurting!
