want to start a taxi company ADVISE PLZ
 

I been driving for uber for a while . Didnt need any extra ins just reg car ins ..
Been thinking its really busy place here for taxi biz .. I know advertise, start a tin # for the biz, and get a local biz license for the city i am in .. a Meter and taxi lite for top of car Maybe a camera to record the trip . What else mite i need to do it legal ?? I see people putting ads in the new paper that so and so will be doing biz as blah blah chimney sweeping . What is the purpose in this ? I know this site if full of really smart go getters . THANKS FOR YOUR HELP IN THIS ENDEVOR :help::help:

Taxi licence can be pricey to get - especially as an "independent"...that's what I know from up here anyhow...maybe cheaper in your city?

In most states you're required to publish DBA information in local newspapers. The purpose is to create transparency so people know who is actually running the business.

When you get a ein as a LLC is that actually forming the LLC ?

No, not quite. You apply for and receive your EIN from the IRS. Then you file "articles of incorporation/organization" with your state's Secretary of State to formally form and register the company with your state. You have do complete both steps before you'll be able to file taxes for the company. Also worth noting you aren't able to open business bank accounts until you've filed articles of incorporation.

Yes silly to not know that each city controls and regulates the pickups. Taxi's hate Uber & Lyft. Airports are very controlling. On a side note Uber and Lyft accept Paypal good way to get paid from your stealth accounts hahaha!
