Wow, I am just now seeing this post. I can 100% relate. My father use to own a haunted house, like an amusement for people to pay admission to enter. I remember when he first bought the building. It was an old furniture manufacturer like from the early 1900's.
We had neighbors who lived in the same houses their parents lived in and just took it over after their parents passed away. A lot of these neighbors had came to us and told us how the building was vacant for at least 20 years. Some even said it was as long as 30 years. Anyhow the building was vacant for that long because their was some type of fire and it pretty much gutted the whole inside of the building.
Some of the employees got trapped inside and burned up pretty good before being able to get out. One person did not get out. But the people who lived across the streets from this building heard him screaming and wailing while he was burning alive. Then the screams just stopped and they knew that he was dead at that point. This is the same freaking story that was told to us by different people over and over again while we was ripping this place apart and reconstructing walls, floors, and ceilings.
I always thought it was a farce because the neighborhood did not want us there because the haunted house was going to be opened late on weekends, like 2am usually.
Anyhow, while we was setting up, there was this speaker in the basement that had all the wires removed but would still play music randomly. I heard it, my dad heard it, at least a dozen others heard it. And we never heard it when we werent alone. It was only when we was alone.
There was another instance, and this only happened once, where I was walking in one of the finished rooms (decorated with haunted themes and stuff) and there was this netting that we hung up on the walls. Some how this netting falls directly on top of me. Physically, I dont know how it happened unless someone threw it on me.
This is when I witnessed the exact same thing you are talking about. It looked like a shadowy bat or moth. It flew by me in one direction and out of my vision then came back going the opposite direction. It wasnt small like a bat. It was like human size. The lights were on. They were not dim. And I do not do drugs or anything else, nor do I believe in that kind of ****. But I still dont know what it was.
Anyhow, that was probably over 20 years ago. Just letting you know I can relate.
EDIT: The speaker really had nothing to do with the story, but it was just something else that I remembered about that place. Sorry if it threw anyone for a left turn.
