Which PVC ID card printer?

Looking into buying a printer that can print direct onto a PVC plastic card. Hoping to not break the bank where possible. Anyone know anything about them? Looking for something that doesn’t just smudge. Some canon/ epson inkjet can do it or go for a thermal?

They are usually pretty expensive. You should expect pay around £250 upwards for a decent one

Thermal the quality isn't great in my experience

RE smudging. That is partly down to the type of card you use. Matt has less chance of smudge but gloss looks nicer.
