Depends on the product / idea, how unique it is, and most importantly, if it will attract demand? |

| phaz0rz | 07-06-2018 08:08 AM | Re: Find investor Just google "startup funding." There's tons of sites that link up investors and entrepreneurs. If your idea is good enough you could get a big startup investment company like Y Combinator behind you. |

Can they steal my idea? | Definitely if you have not taken steps to secure patent and protect yourself. |

Idea can never patent | So you only have an idea but no product...maybe go hire or find some production company/engineers to design it |

Idea can never patent | You get the gist of what i'm saying.
If overall its not something you can patent (as there many ideas/products etc. you cannot patent), then someone else can replicate what you have. Nothing you can do about it.
Your only hope of success is getting an investor or two to give you a significant sum of money to blitz the market and get your brand out there. In such case i'd avoid going down a crowd funding route. |

| yankee | 07-07-2018 10:42 AM | Re: Find investor Raise funds by sales. Create a demand and brand and run it as long as possible.
My entire manufacturing business is all about this or duplicating someones elses idea if not patented pr trademarked. |

If he doesn't, and someone with more capital comes along, they'll overshadow him. It would almost be as if he never existed and the idea was never his to begin with. |
| dallis | 07-07-2018 09:45 PM | Re: Find investor Let's evaluate this based on the OP's various statements: OP's got an idea, nothing tangible, no prototype, not even a mock up, no patent, no sales history, nothing but an big idea, and is not willing to borrow money or invest his/her own, but wants an investor to throw lots of funds at it.
OP will need to demonstrate substantial sales potential and a personal belief in the product that involves putting every penny the OP has, including mortgaging their home, borrowing money from friends, family and yes, even a BANK, and spending every cent they can beg, borrow and steal into it to prove it will sell, before any investor will even consider putting money into the product.
Crowdfunding doesn't have those limitations.
Telling the OP anything else is wasting their time. |

It would almost be as if he never existed and the idea was never his to begin with. | Based on everything he has said, no VC would lend to him without taking the vast majority of the company in my experience anyways and honestly, why would they even be that generous....
If it is has no value currently, can not be patented and with no sales history, who would loan him funds?
In this case, creating a brand and having sales is the only significant way to raise funds is my best guess.
Now if he can create an asset via copyright(and you really need sales to do this) or/and patent then that is a whole different animal. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:07 PM. | |
