I really hope so. I'd be even happier if it hit £10k. I'll be offloading all my BTC if it ever does.

I think there are a lot of people holding onto the BTC hoping for exactly that. Each time I look at the £ to BTC value is seems to be decreasing!

I am so not looking at charts.

The crypto fad is pretty much over. I feel stupid for holding my balances so long.

Re: bitcoin price

Planning on selling? I think sooner or later prices will increase again. My balance isn’t huge so I don’t mind taking the gamble

Re: bitcoin price

It isn't over yet. This is just a cycle. The next Bitcoin halving is 647 days away. The block reward will decrease from 12.5 to 6.25 BTC... This will result in a 50% cut in new circulating supply entering the market.

Price=Supply+Demand

(Supply-50%)+(Demand+50%)=100% Moon

It would have been nice to sell back in Dec or early Jan... But since that didn't happen...

I'm thinking the price could continue to be suppressed possibly until 12 months before the halving.

When BTC starts to take off again it's going to suck the life out of all the Alts killing a good portion of the shaddy projects.

What you see now in the Alt coin price is most likely ICO's trying to cash out their Ethereum before they lose more money. All ICO's that were created on the Ethereum network (like 1500+ projects) sold their presale coins for ETH.

It's a natural cycle of life played out in code. And its not over yet. It'll get worse before it gets better.

BTC is the only safe bet at this point. I wish I traded all my ETH for BTC but there is no way in hell I'm selling at this point. Have to ride this one out.. I'm just glad all my money is in BTC and ETH and not some other sh!t coin...

There is no way anyone could ever convince me that a unconfiscatable asset with limited number of supply, that can't be printed out of thin air by who ever is in power. Doesn't have value...

I've seen it first hand, I spent a good portion of life in a place where it was bad enough that roman noodle soups, bags of tuna, and tobacco were as good as cash.

I'm hoping it goes down to $1k... that'd be the perfect opportunity to buy back in!

Re: bitcoin price

Why will the halving result in a higher BTC price when BTC can't really be used for anything anymore, and it's talked about less and less every week? I understand why the price got so high when dark net markets were thriving and crypto was being pumped by the mainstream media. Everybody was trading then and lots of people were convinced BTC was a viable long-term store of value (which it never was, lol).

I only have BTC, ETH, and BTC Cash balances. Never really got into altcoin trading since it was blindingly apparent that most altcoins were scams with 0 chance of ever gaining popularity. Still though, what was a $15k combined balance a few months ago is now under $5k.

I like it when you try to give people hope Nate but I just don't see it getting any better. In my honest opinion crypto is more useless now than it's ever been. :(

I'm sure it will drop back down to $1k in time. Then $500. Not really sure if it's going to rebound from those low prices though. :suspicious:

You always say this. You've always said this. But I never see you selling anything off... :deadhorse:

Hah. I guess you're right.

That's been my honest opinion for most of the time people have been trading crypto. Those of you with confidence are probably the only reason I haven't sold everything off yet. Long-term gamble, I guess. :P

Bank only pays a couple cents a month interest...

When I went in I told myself I was looking at at least a 5 year ROI.

So I still have a good minute before I'll start panicking.

I had to take a unexpected vacation back in the beginning of 2011 that lasted up until 2014. I left all my assets in USD. When I look back on those years if I had invested it in something I believed in i.e. Amazon or Nvidia

I agree, this isn't a traditional investment. But I have much faith in technology...

Even when I went to college back in the late 90's... I was caught between computer science or business...

I kept hearing computer science was over saturated so I went with business...

Over saturated... WTF? LMFAO That was 20 years ago...

Oh how that was the mind set of the older generation.

Nudging their kids into a higher education that was not what the kids wanted.

Bitcoin to the moon!!!

No wait, that was last year....

Bitcoin 1k by December, the end is nigh. Save yourselves before it's to late!

That's better :)

Let's face it, no one here knows how it's going to go long term.
