family members visiting...

I need some advice,

I have some relatives wanting to visit for vacation this thanksgiving, and some of them want to stay at my house, I said yes initially, but now i am hesitant,

I have family members that have betrayed my trust, they stole from me, and lied to me multiple times in the past.

Their are some that I trust within my family and others I don't.

What would you do?

the thing about me is if you lie to me 1 time, or betray me 1 time, I immediately cut you off and anyone related to you. If you dont take swift punishment against that person, it shows that you are a weak person and they will more than likely do it again and again because they have no sense of respect for you. Word goes around that you are weak so others will also try to take advantage of you.

and I do not forgive people. Nobody.

also it depends on the magnitude of betrayal, their is always a punishment that comes from my end and yes I know how the police investigate.

You used "their" in place of "there" a couple times.

I guess it would be hard to go back and say "no" now. Buy a couple of nanny cams and set them up anywhere you have valuable stuff. Then prosecute if stuff goes missing.

hahaha......the police........:pound:

https://i.pinimg.com/originals/90/05...e37788d3d8.jpg

one time my neighbor broke into my garage to take a power tool and left it on my porch like it was a game.

the police did not show up until 9 hours later after i called them to tell them the 7 year old kid next door confessed.......when they showed up all they could say it hes a young kid and their is not much we can do to prosecute this as felony charges against a minor........

I wanted him to get locked away for the rest of his natural born existence and never see the light of day again.

they ended up not doing a damn thing......the police are useless....

i complained to the HOA and my neighbors were renting from a real estate company I called the real estate company and emailed them the police report.....they moved out within a month......

this is the only police that I put my trust in,

:bounce:

it takes about 5 minutes for me to get the gun and load it up and start shooting.

while it takes the police a good 9 hours to show up for burglary circumstances.....because they are standing in line getting jelly glazed donuts and coffee for a good 9 hours at 7-11

Ok. Nanny cam idea still would work I think. Instead of handing over footage of your family member stealing stuff from you to the police you could shoot said family member.

Just tell them that they can't stay with you - straight up?

I like Phazorz suggestion. Why don't you let them stay but just patrol the corridors at night with your gun? They will know you mean business then.

You don't have an obligation to let them stay with you if you don't want to => you don't need to put cameras or call the police or even use your gun!

All what you have to do is to tell them the truth, or you might lie and make up an excuse, if for a reason or another you'r not confortable with telling the truth.

Don't complicate your life ;)

Yeah, why not just be honest. Say: I don't let people stay with me I don't trust and I don't trust you.

Simple is best.

I think I will try this instead......excellent way to bring the entire family together.....for the holidays....

I don't really cry to the police for help or seek a judge to help me.

I take matters into my own hands and make sure I cover up all of the evidence to botch the investigation.

I most likely will not let them stay at my house I probably won't even have a conversation with them at all.

I don't want those types of people near my house or even sit with them at the table. family or not it does not matter to me.If I was ever a family man, I would not want my children near them I dont want them to learn how to lie or betray.

Wise choice

I am tempted to not say anything and continue to eat dinner with them in a public place........
I want to pretend to be their dearest family member.......and one day I can catch them offguard....

keep your friends close and keep your enemies closer.

I wouldn't mind the address of that 7 year old neighbour, so I can send him a gift certificate.

Even a little kid knows a puffed up fart-talker when he sees/hears one.......

I would give it to you but they were one of those section 8 housing low income families.........

I don't know where they moved to when I got them kicked out of our neighborhood after his act.:d

If you are not better than a family in a section 8 housing, then who are you better than?

reminds me of a line from the film mississippi burning.....

The security camera idea is nice and all and will catch them in the act so you can confront them but that pretty much destroys your relationship. And telling them you have security cameras inside the house kinda paints you in a negative light.
How about telling them your place is packed as it is with business materials or whatever and rent an Airbnb unit for them closeby. Shouldn't be overly expensive to do that if you can find the right place.

I like this idea... possible add that you have cameras and clean your gun at the table.

I always believe in being honest and straight up with how you feel, if you don't trust somebody to stay in your house without cameras on them, then they shouldn't be in your house at all.

damn, what kind of relatives are these? don't bring them in your house if you have to think about using guns.
