how to restore file
 
how do you simply restore a file that wasnt backed up, and was accidentally deleted?

tried windows system restore but came up with error message..

If you have Norton's Utilities or Nero, you can restore with ease. I do not know if the trial version of Nero supports data recovery of hard disks, but the full version does.

If you write any new data to your hard drive, you may lose your ability to recover the deleted file. The odds are not high at any one specific time, but it adds up against you.
