So i have entropay europe account and just now i got email entropay going off from market very sad news

New Account Restrictions

We’re sorry to let you know that Entropay is imposing new account restrictions. This means, over the coming months, your Entropay account functionality will be gradually restricted.

We are letting you know about this change now so you will have plenty of time to withdraw or spend any money that is on your account.


Here is how this change will affect you:

14 December 2018
You will not be able to top up your account from credit or debit cards, or from bank transfers.​

26 February 2019
All virtual cards in your account will be deleted and any remaining money will be transferred to your wallet balance. Payouts and transfers will be disabled and any outstanding transactions will be cancelled.


Please make sure you have withdrawn or spent any money on your Entropay account before 24 April 2019.

Wow.

I have just logged into my own account in the last hour, to receive a message I can no longer top up.

I have sent an email to customer support.

I thought it was just me...

I have not received the same message as the OP, however the date for top ups (14/12) is the same.

I wonder if this is account specific, or a gradual wind down of Entropay?

Your account is being closed. You'd be best to withdraw whatever balance you have in there.

I can still create and delete cards at this time.

I have sent an email requesting information, but no reply so far.

This feels like a phased close down of Entropay to minimize disruption.

Very sad if that is the case, a very useful service.

This is nothing to do with your account personally, this applies to all Entropay accounts. I am very sorry but we have no further information on this, apart from the details below.

Here is how this change will affect you:

From 14 December 2018:

I emailed Entropay support who said that it was 'effecting ALL accounts'

I thought it may have been related to the pending exit of the UK from the EEA (Brexit), but from what you guys are saying here, it's a complete shutdown.

This is a real pain as they have been faultless and trying to find another VCC that you can top up with £1000s and one that is able to pass the paypal linking checks is not going to be possible anymore. (gift cards are no good as their topup limit is so very small)

It's now going to be a lot more complicated to get an ebay payment method setup in paypal. Oh well all good things come to an end...

This is so sad to read, RIP Entropay.

Does anybody have any alternatives?

There plenty of other vcc providers, you would need to test them to see if they work for your needs.
