Running a "Red Light" question...
 

Did some searching on Google but got varied results.

Situation: Approaching intersection, and light turns yellow. You decide to stop but end up about a 1/2 a car length past the forward crosswalk line.

All the intersection camera's flash and take your picture. You back-up behind the cross walk and wait for green.

Question: Is this considered "running a red light" ?

Or is this "Crosswalk Infringement" ?

In the UK & Australia, running the red is when the whole vehicle goes thro' the lights at the intersection. There is at least two seconds' grace B4 the cameras engage.

What you are saying GB is the whole vehicle has to enter the intersection?

Today has been a week exactly and I still haven't heard anything from the courts.

Anyone else have any thoughts?

Logically speaking, u cant run a light if you never went under it. Just have to look up your local law and see what they say constitutes a running a red light.

agreed, you havent gone thru intersection therefore have not run a red light.

bit like stealing from shops law, not until youve left building, one foot in one out, not applicable

Well its been almost 5 weeks and a ticket never showed up in the mail. YAY!

So it looks like it is not a red light ticket, at least not in the state of Arizona.

You will be fine. You did not run a red light and there will no be ticket.
