If its in the Daily Mail then its bound to be a load of rubbish and mention immigrants somewhere.

Surprisingly touches on a number of topics surrounding immortality tho... Regrowing body parts with stem cells (ethical hiccup, stem cells usually come from aborted fetuses) and curing cancer are going to have to come way before uploading your consciousness though heh. Once we cure cancer we're going to find out what our next killer is gonna be.

Still have absolutely no idea how the brain creates 'consciousness' outside of the basic motor and regulatory functions... As in, if you tried to 'pin-point' where your consciousness is you couldn't. Could argue that all that consciousness is is a foundation of memories built from first experiences followed by a buildup of self-reassurances for those memories experienced throughout life (i.e. one person views a situation one way, another person in a different way from theirs, upbringing has a really large impact on this).

Cryogenics my friend. Really is the best bet. $200,000 for your whole body, $80,000 for your head. Still run a ton of risks doing it, but nothing else preservers you....

Have to really think if the Cryonics Institute will still be in business hundreds of years from now... some world catastrophe knocks the power out for more than 2mo and you're toast... not to mention is there a contract to revive you and where are the funds stored.... and then the costs involved... how do you estimate revival costs for a procedure that doesn't even exist yet... I doubt your great great x1000 grand kids are really gonna care about you nor would they want to blow $400,000 to revive 1,000 yr old grandpa.

Touches on so much stuff - conformity / social programming and how it applies to misinformation and governments. Evolution and how we're literally one form of the universe experiencing itself - if it could think, talk, walk.

The Double Slit experiment basically says matter in its simplest form are waves (the experiment is highly regarded in science) When particles are measured the wave collapses and the particles pop into existance. They dont teach it in high school, probably for good reason lol.

Einstein didnt want to believe it because it undermines all his laws and theories about relativity. They work wonderfully on the physical scale, but when applied on the quantum scale all our laws break down and dont work any longer.

If we was born around the year 2400 to 3000, I bet everything will be super advanced then. Too bad none of us will ever see it. That sucks.

I think anything is possible. But with cryo, have you ever put a raspberry or anything with high water content in freezer and then defrosted it? we are mainly water - I dont know if I would want that kind of messed up brain that would create, it could be terrifying.

Yeaaaa right after you die (they have teams waiting for you, ha) they come in and exchange all your blood with liquid nitrogen or helium (extremely low freezing point).

The risk is when the liquid goes into your brain it can cause ruptures in blood vessels i.e. you're basically brain dead.. :shhh:

Think there may be a half-life of cells that breakdown even while still frozen, so best guesses are you'll last 600 years or so. Didn't read further to confirm it or not though.
