Free Newspaper

As packaging material. I've done this before but just newspaper around the house. Can't believe I never though of using free newspaper from gas stations and supermarkets as packaging. I've been getting free newspapers from walmart and the supermarkets. I know, its a lil tacky but its free. Anyone else? I haven't bought any packaging material in about a week. Go into walmart and grab a stack of the real estate paper. ;)

Free newspapers? Everything around here costs like $0.25 to $0.75.

I remember when I first started selling on eBay I used newspaper as packing material. The Good Ole Days! LOL

Somewhere along the line it didn't seem professional anymore with trying hard to please customers.

Now I buy my packing paper at Smart and Final. 10 inch rolls of butcher paper for $22.

For 1.5 cu feet of packaging material cost $9 at office depot. I can package about 8 packages with that. I can order 150 ft by 2 ft bubble wrap for $28 online and probably can package about 50 packages. Big savings, but nothing compared to free. Have to admit though, when I order something off ebay and I see newspaper I think he/she is a lil unprofessional. I did walk out of walmart today with 3 free news papers today.

Yea, philly, most newspapers cost .50cents on weekdays and 1.25 on weekends, but you can find some real estate papers and sales/classified that are free. But with 3 sunday newspapers at a total of 1.25, and grab there newspapers, should get me around 10+ packages.

I think he was talking about the "Weekly SHopper" and similar...a lot of tourist areas have vacation themed freebies.

Unless I'm doing Flat-Rate USPS Priority I prefer peanuts and bubble wrap just because, even crumpled, the newspaper is quite a bit heavier
