Low risk items to sell on Ebay. What is it?

Hello, I surf these forums but I see about high-risk items. Someone called books medium-risk items. I don't catch which category of goods is proper low-risk items. Please name it.

1$ shop items, toys, stuff around the house, non-branded items. It's better to list them as "used" at the beginning.

Books & most anything you would find in a dollar or surplus shop.

Low cost used goods are always best to start off with.

collectibles are low risk, jewelry, postcards, stamps, prints are good, nothing expensive.
Russian goods are scarce, some look for Soviet items.
Do a search of past items and see what sells.

I would be careful listing in the collectibles, jewelry, or coins/stamps categories. These items are mainly considered higher risk and I wouldn't recommend you sell in these as a first sale. Account is likely to be limited right away, esp. on the PayPal side.

Once I listed a military order for first item, the listing was removed and account was gone after few hours.

Nazi items are not allowed, may be just books are OK.

Re: Low risk items to sell on Ebay. What is it?

why are books risky?
there are plenty of low risk, low $ items to sell on Ebay-belt buckle, pocket watch chain,FOB,lighter, cigarette box.
Original B&W photos of Depression Era sharecroppers sitting around with grim expression,American Indians doing the ghost dance,Chinese coolies chasing dragon in an opium den,Buddy L toy trucks in good condition.
Some days ,some of these paper books would be valuable, you figure we will all be reading e books/
The French edition of Aleister Crowley 'Magick' would be nice !
So would grimoire supposedly written by a pope !

Ebay starts out as a venue for collectibles and antiques,of course the calibre of these antiques and collectibles are not in the same league as you would find with Christie or Sotheby.
They are not high risk at all, unless you are selling Picasso,Monet or high carat diamond, ruby, saphire.
But who would sell them on Ebay if they are really authentic?
These days Ebay is flooded with cheap repros and antiques made yesterday

Very true - gone are the days (it seems) of escrow having a larger presence.

Re: Low risk items to sell on Ebay. What is it?

you would be surprised what people buy on Ebay, once I have some unused Oral toothbrushes and sample toothbrushes and floss from my dentist,I list them on Ebay and they are sold.
Supermarket coupons I dont use,box of chocolate I dont need, they are all sold.
I see people selling worn shoes, worn sneakers, worn underwear(washed),I would never buy worn shoes/sneakers from anyone.

Bingo.

I am a high risk electronic seller, that's what puts food on my table at home.

BUT to get my account passed the EU limitations I was selling collectibles. Selling them between £10-15.
