Amex 3% cash back on grocery and gas

Have anyone tried that>
a special AMEX CARD gives you 150 bonus and 3% cash back when you shop for grocery and gas.

150k bonus? That's a great bonus.

I had a sign-up bonus of 100k a couple years ago. That's an instant 1k of travel money.

Tell us which card you're talking about : https://www.americanexpress.com/us/c...ds-CategoryNav

I don't see a travel card with a 150k bonus (aside from the Hilton card) or a cash back card with a $150 bonus.

I dont know where Aspkin see 150K,it is $150 .
Well,I read more last night, the one with no membership fee is the one I AM INterested in,it is not 3%,it is 2%.and there is a cap of $6k per year.and no Costco or WMT superstore.
I am now using Kroger MC card,I get 1 point for $1 spent,if it is KR brand item I bought in KR supermarket, I get 2 points,so I am wondering if AMEX has a better card.
I also get KR coupons tailored to my past shopping habit,I can easily save $5-$10 per trip.
TGT also have a card, but you have to shop in TGT store for grocery?

Re: Amex 3% cash back on grocery and gas

I use 2 CC's from one of the credit unions I work with, and that's all. I like them because they don't have stipulations and regulations on how you can earn points, like all of the big name credit cards do. I use my CC's for all of our postage + as many other business expenses as possible. I get a flat 1 point per $1 spent, and 5000 points buys a $50 deposit into my CU account (so 1 point = $.01 and I'm getting $1 cash back per $100 spent). We go through $7500-10000 in postage per month so I get the free $50 deposit pretty much every month. Neither card has an annual fee and neither accrues any interest since I pay them down daily.. so I'm probably not my credit union's favorite credit card customer.

If I were to try using one of these brand name Amex or Capital 1 cards it wouldn't be so efficient. There would be awful caps on how many points I'm able to earn through postage buys (if the card even allows you to earn points on business purchases in the first place, which is rare).

In short.. some of the offers I see on credit karma are tempting but there's really no reason for a guy in my position to seek other cards.

you can spread your postage cost among several cards.
some cards will allow you to use their points to buy on AMZN.
But I agree, these cards all have caps.
