Anybody selling online from Germany?

One day I would like to travel to Germany (Berlin) and maybe live there someday. I currently live in the USA for now, my eBay and Amazon business is based over here too.

I was wandering, does a VPN (USA IP address) work over at Germany? I'm asking cause if I wanted to start my life and business, all over again from scratch, thats the route I may have to take.

Also, shipping items from Germany to USA must be expensive right? There's no USPS and no UPS in Germany. What do you guys use? DHL?

Just curious, any of you German residents please fill me in.

i know about Germany and maybe I could help you out, but first, how is your life going in the US (financially wise)?

The US is way more filled with opportunities than Germany my friend. If you think you can make more money in Germany than you can do in the US, you are very misinformed.

I am happy to elaborate if you want me to...

Hey wassup WUW! My life is pretty good I make decent money, all just by selling items on ebay and amazon. Its my bread and butter. Thats why im wandering would a USA ip address (VPN) work in Germany? I dont use ipburger I use 24vc instead.

How do you ship your items out if all your clients are in United States? Keep in mind I plan on selling just the eBay and Amazon USA platforms only. Which is why the VPN part is critical.

I sell to customers who are in Germany. If you want to sell to US-based eBay customers, you can outsource the shipping and handling to 3rd party companies that will do that for you.

With Amazon, you could simply use FBA.

If you're making decent money in the US, stay in the US and invest your money over there because there is much more opportunity than here!!

Living in Germany if you don't speak German is a pain in the ass and it will take you at least 2-3 years of really hard work to pick up the language and become comfortable speaking it.

I am not trying to discourage you, I am just being honest with you...

P.S: The US is the best country on the face of this planet to live and work in, so if I were you, I wouldn't be looking for another country to migrate to... Just my two cents =}-

I do business with the German,I have been to Germany.
I found it t o be a joy doing business with the German, they produce quality merchandise at a fair price, but in my area of expertise (collectibles),they are 'too traditional'.I wish they will loosen up somewhat, may be have a wild affair with the French, the French are more flexible.
I watch German movies sometimes, you can stream a movie called Fear Eats the soul on Youtube,it is about a German woman with a younger Moroccan man who worked in a German factory and relaxed in a German bar with Arabic music. after work..

Do you know that I could have lost my eBay account because of Deutsche Post? Let me tell you a little story about Deutsche Post and how things have changed... Just yesterday I have shipped 150 packs (no tracking), so I put the 150 packs in a mail box (called Deutsche Post Briefkasten over here) and I decided to wait for the Deutsche Post mail-car that will empty that box and I kept waiting for 3 hours until the deadline for the emptying is well over and nobody showed up. Now you might be asking yourself why the hell did I decide to wait for such a thing, right? Because 2 weeks ago the same thing happend to me, I put a couple hundred packs on Monday and they are delivered on Friday (All of them).

So it turned out that the guy employed by Deutsche Post is a mother****ing jerk who is not doing his job, he is supposed to come and empty the damn box every day (except Sundays), but he comes every 2 or 3 days :smash:

I found this out by asking a young woman who works at a bakery, the bakery is situated right next to the mail box.

Two weeks ago when this same incident happend to me, I went to the mail-center of Deutsche Post in my city to ask them where the hell are my packs?!! I was shocked by what I saw there :pound:

You see, the Deutsche Post seems to be facing a big problem in terms of human resources, they are employing all kinds of people to help them empty mail-boxes, cab drivers have also secured a share of that occupation too.

So my theory is that the guy responsible for the mail box in my neighborhood said to himself: Screw it, I will empty that damn box every other day cuz who the **** would notice, right? :argue:

Deutsche Post is not what it used to be and Germany is not what it used to be too. The country's population is aging/dying and a lot of the German workforce is being replaced by foreign workers who don't take their jobs as seriously as Germans do.

I am not an ethnic German, but I can tell the difference between a German and a non-German worker. Germans do their jobs with passion in a robotic way :heh: (which produces fantastic results). Now that foreign workers are taking over, things are not as efficient as they used to be.

So in the future, the German government will have millions of old people who need to be taken care of and the only way to do that is by brute-forcing socialism and making taxes higher.

So staying in the US and preferably moving to Florida to start a business is far better than moving to Europe (this is my opinion for sure) :bored:

Re: Anybody selling online from Germany?

USPS is no better roses,in winter newly hired postal carriers once it gets dark, just go home with our mail,if I schedule a pick up and leave the light on,no one comes .
Delivering mail outside the city from house t o house is not that simple,in big apt buildings you are safe and easy to place them in small mail box and leave the big package with the doorman,if there is one.
However landlords of these buildings are now complaining,so many tenants are running an internet business from home and it is taking up too much of their time to accept packages and retrieving them.
Fed Exp Ground used foreign workers too, some will sign my package either make up a name or sign my name.
Recently,we had a hurricane and the roof of the Postal sort facility collapsed !,last hurricane one of our postal carrier had a heart attack !
I watched the German movie Fear Eats the Soul on Youtube once in a while, yes, they have foreign workers,France has Algerians.

That is 100% true. The world as we know it today was built well and quickly due to the baby boomers.

It is insane how some shady parties are promoting the idea of over-population and how the human population should be reduced considerably in order for us to be able to keep nowadays standards of living when in reality this planet could afford having billions more of humans (provided technology is honestly deployed for the good of mankind).

Many European nations will be on the brink of human-collapse in the future and time's up for fixing that problem by encouraging people to have more children. I think the cultural wars and revolutions that have taken place in the last 50 years had a disastrous effect on western societies.

You see, only the populations of developed countries are collapsing, populations of 3rd world countries are having no shortage in human resource, but the difference in qualifications between the two is staggering and the latter couldn't fill the gap we are seeing right now.

I personally think taxes are the root evil of all of this, people are afraid of starting a family because of the associated costs that comes with starting a family. People should be given a release of this criminal high taxation which could be put on shelf with armed robbery.

Anyway... I don't think people give a damning **** about what happens outside the small circle of their personal life, so screw them... I don't think they deserve the rights on the books anymore (I am not generalizing btw, I do realize that a good percentage of people is aware of the dark comedy going on) :fight:

Germany is a terrific country if you know what to do in order to succeed financially. I was telling OP it was a bad idea for him to move to Germany simply because it will be a tough nut to crack. Making it in the U.S would be far more convenient for him :ballchain:
