Diner and blue plate special
 

I was watching the movie Sting,it is free on Tubi.
It seems every character is eating in a diner,Robert Redford asked for blue plate special,detective Snyder eats at the counter etc etc,where can i find a diner these days?
The saying Early bird catches the worm does not apply in some situations-
I go to the supermarket early and they told me they have not unloaded the green beans from the truck?
I go to cafeteria for dinner too early and they serve me lunch leftover as the cook is still cooking dinner items,
I go to a fancy French restaurant early and the bread and pate is dry leftover from lunch.
who said dining out is pleasurable?

On another note,I read that with minimum wage plus in California,and tips are not to be counted toward your wage,restaurants are rolling out 'casual' dining,where you find your own table ,get your own water and fill your own glass,go up to the counter and order the dish and pay for them at the counter.
someone will bring you the plate though .
