At the request of the Italian Red Cross, a Chinese medical team carrying humanitarian relief supplies flew to coronavirus-hit Italy on Wednesday to help the country combat novel coronavirus, Sichuan Daily reports.



The seven-member-team includes medical experts from the Chinese Center for Disease Control and Prevention, Red Cross Society of China and West China Hospital.

The novel coronavirus outbreak continued to spread in locked-down Italy on Tuesday, with authorities confirming that a total of 10,149 people have tested positive and 631 have died since the epidemic first emerged in northern Italy on February 21.

Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio held a phone call with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Tuesday, expressing his hopes that China will help solve Italy's urgent need of medical supplies and equipment.

Even though China still needs a large number of medical materials to overcome its own difficulties, they will offer Italy assistance with medical materials, including face masks. They will also accelerate and enhance the exports of supplies and equipment to meet Italy's urgent need, Wang Yi said.

Perception of situation in Italy is iscreased a lot by the media. Living here seems quite normal, even if the government placed some restrictions in all Italy area.

Italy is the only one EU contries made thousands of tampons...the other EU countries are hiding real data, and doing a lot less of tampons to people.

All EU is under corona, not only Italy

yes maybe ture.
but it also 10 times happend to china previously.
like police shot infectors,shanghai get 100000+ death.
street medias with those dirty reporters only write what you suprise to hear and draw people attension to get clicks and profit,they don't care about the truth.
which made western people nowdays still have a lot misunderstanding about chinese society.It is still too far to perfact but not that bad really.

Here is how COVID-19 is spreading:

hot weather --> slow spreading (e.g: Singapore, African countries...etc)

cold weather --> rapid spreading (e.g: Norway and Sweden)


The virus will taper off entering the summer, but will pick up quickly as winter comes back. In other words, we are in for a long journey that will probably last for 1-2 years until the miraculous vaccine pops up.

There has never been a vaccine for any type of human coronavirus.




I don't have much faith in these "vaccination breakthroughs" at this point, considering that it's never been done before and it's something usually considered to be outside the scope of modern medical knowledge. This is why it would be considered a miracle.

ANYWAY, just pointing out that it's never been done before so it's unlikely to be done now. I certainly wouldn't be one of the trial volunteers, even if I were infected.

I didn't say what I believe. My opinion on it doesn't go quite as deep as upwards'.

To me the likely explanation is that China was trying to develop a SARS vaccine (china tells us this is what the Wuhan biolab was doing), something went wrong, and covid was released to the wild. There was no stopping it at that point. I don't go into any details past that theory.. because things start becoming farfetched past that point. I don't deny that other groups/parties may have been involved though.

I wasn't meaning to be rude. In English, "tampon" usually refers to a feminine hygiene product used during menstruation. There was definitely a translation error.

Test kit is what most are calling it. Swab test works too, if that's how they're testing.

I think this is true. SARS lasted a year, and COVID19 has spread much more rapidly, so higher chances of more catching it. I think it will last longer than SARS. Initial lack of medical supplies too, but maybe that's a theme.

WHO says MERS is still on-going in Saudi Arabia. 3000 cases, compared to 8000 for SARS, COVID19 numbers have blown past both, and no vaccine for either I'm reading. Since they're all coronaviruses though the R&D done so far is a backbone for COVID19. It may lead to a breakthrough. All three are related, same origin, first in 2002.

My working theory is weather/season is an attributing factor, but not a direct cause. Cold air makes your mucous membranes contract/close inhibiting your defenses, so naturally influenza must be around all the time, but during winter months we're more susceptible.

When a new variation/hybrid occurs it's like falling cards when it comes to how it spreads per country. Given way to control it is terminating inbound/outbound flights if it is host dependent, trade if it is not, but beyond that NO WAY to know how it will spread to each continent once out, and how much. Population density, lack of awareness, level of hygiene, government response time, availability of supplies, all factors I think. From there it is how well it can be controlled.

SARS peaked during March, April and May, the months after cold season. It dropped significantly after that and dissipated.

MERS continues to have outbreaks, relatively same number of instances each time. Interestingly enough the outbreaks all occur during winter time.

A friend of mine I'm unfortunately no longer in contact with was from Jordan which borders Saudi Arabia. Told me about the food and showed me images. It didn't look like health inspectors were a common practice there.

As for India, at least the street food is not hygienic, like, at all. This other friend said new diseases were born there regularly and you have to be careful. But he ate it anyway because it was good. Hah.

They pulled the number on Trump already, the man's immune system is fighting COVID-19 right now, I don't know if he is going to survive this or not and only time will tell.


I truly feel sorry for him though, I know and understand that he is a bankrupt businessman that was caught in a web of venomous spiders.

Theres no escaping it. This thing is going to change the world as we know it for at least the next couple of years.
